What do you think?

Last night Ellie tried her second solid food. I think the jury is still out on whether she'll like this one - we'll try it a few more times over the next few days. Anyhow, would anyone (other than Nanny, Grandpa or EM) like to take a guess as to what her second solid is? As a reminder, her first was rice cereal.

A hint: It is Nanny's favorite food....(rules out meat and dairy!).

Ladies and gentlemen! Can you believe it?! The wonderful, the talented, the heretofore inexplicably absent EM has graced us with her presence! All hail and rejoice at the splendor that is EM! Hooray!

Apricots or Apple sauce - Laurie

Good guess, but it was not a fruit.

All the "experts" told me to try green beans. That's my guess. But she'll probably like peas even if she didn't know what that wretched green stuff was the first time.

[Is it too early for fatback in those beans?]

Actually, I misspoke... it was a fruit... a green fruit.

Was it a green fruit going in or coming out?

Going in. Since we started solids her movements are less frequent and less predictable and, as such, I'm not sure that I ever saw it on the back side.

BTW, it's nice to see that someone else was up as late as I was.

was it grapes?

I think grapes would be a good guess for a green fruit; but, then I couldn't help but wonder "can the baby digest the skins?" and "can you sufficiently mash up the skins?" I don't know. Does anyone know about grapes and babies?

Anyhow, for what it's worth, the fruit v. vegetable confusion that I suffered earlier in the comments should help to narrow the choices.

Grapes require about 12 months or a skin-peeler. [Also, grapes will turn little miss into a "grape factory" if you catch my meaning.]

Bananas are often green. Kiwi is green. Limes are green. But I don't think it's any of them. C'mon. Quit keeping us in suspenders.

Yeah, I think I've gotten enough mileage out of this one... her second solid was AVOCADO, and I've pretty much decided that as of now she is not a fan. Maybe that'll change when she can appreciate tortilla chips and margaritas.
