I mean it

Our son is the worst sleeper.  Ever.

Ugh!

Remember that resolution I made?  More pics.  More updates.  Blah, blah, blah.  Oh well.

Short version:  Colby is a good baby; doesn't sleep well.  T is exhausted.  Ellie is a handful.  And I work too much.  End result?  This update is made three months since the last.  Ugh.

So what's been happening?

Ellie is five today.  She graduated from preschool last month.  She is so excited to begin kindergarten.  However, before that takes place we've got a family vacation at the beach to take and she's got several week long camps to attend.

Colby will be eight months old in a week.  He is still nursing, but with that comes a good mix of solid foods.  He should cut his first tooth any time now (we've been saying that for two months because EVERYTHING goes in his mouth).  He is also poised to crawl at any moment.  People say he favors me.  And he has the absolute best smile I've ever seen (and he smiles alot).

With all that said, I'm not going to promise to do better (we see how that goes).  I'm just gonna do what I can, when I can.  That's all any of us can do.

First Book

Tonight Ellie read to us, from start to finish and without help, "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss. It was completely out of the blue and completely wonderful. Now, in all fairness, we did help her with twenty... but c'mon... she's four and a half. Brilliant.

Nanny Daycare...

...is now open for business. Actually, it opened Tuesday but you know how lax we are with updates these days. Anyhow, EM is back at work and Colby is all hers (Ellie too, after preschool). Day one, as I understand it, went fairly well (perhaps thanks to Pa being able to help a bit?). Day two (today), on the other hand, not so much. Primarily, because Ellie decided to be difficult. End result? The dollhouse (you know, the one from Christmas) is ours (for the time being).
