Fasten your seatbelts!

The terrible two's are under way (and she's not even two yet). For the last week or so, Ellie has been more prone to being fussy or pitching fits. As such, we had our suspicions but we were holding out hope for an illness or something of that sort; however, this weekend left no doubt as to what we are dealing with. Heck, we must have put her in time-out a dozen times. There was even one time in the car when, I swear, she sounded as though she was possessed. Please send your prayers and words of advice.

If you can't distract her [hey! Are those Hell's Angels?] then what you might be seeing is her frustration...she knows what she wants but does not have the vocab or ability to say so clearly. Acknowledge her upset [I know you're frustrated, Ellie], but remain kind and firm. Consistency is key. Also, a big hug might be calming for all involved. Each kid is different...one hated banishment, another hates knowing she disappointed us.

Any chance she's cutting molars? That would make any of us out of sorts.

This message is from Grammy...I am not quite sure I agree with her technique however she said it worked on ED. Our Grandmother on Dad's side would sprinkle water in his face when he would throw a tantrum and Grammy did the same to ED. Evidently it only took one time for ED and all she had to do was threaten the sprinkle the next time. So Grammy's advise...sprinkle water in her face. - Aunt Laurie
